Questions we hear most often
Who qualifies for the CIWG category?
NRI candidates whose either or both parents are working β or have worked till any date in 2026 β in a Gulf country (UAE, Bahrain, Iraq, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia). CIWG seats are 5% of DASA-GEN seats; vacant CIWG seats convert to Non-CIWG at Round-II. Supporting documents are listed in Annexure 5 (including the parent's Gulf passport copy).
How many rounds are there, and which is final?
DASA 2026 conducts Round-I (result on 06 Aug) and Round-II (result on 12 Aug). Round-II is the final round β all allotments in it are presumed accepted. After Round-I you exercise a willingness option; if you do nothing, the default applies.
What if I miss the choice-locking deadline?
The system auto-locks your last saved choices at 14:00 on 05 Aug 2026. Unlocked choices that were never saved are not considered. Save frequently and lock early β don't rely on the auto-lock.
Is the registration fee refundable?
No. The US$ 300 registration fee is non-refundable. Tuition fee refund rules are governed by Annexure 6 of the brochure. The DEF is paid once via SWIFT / e-Payment / NEFT / RTGS.
I already secured a seat in JoSAA β can I still join DASA?
Yes, as a fresh candidate after paying the DEF, provided you meet DASA eligibility. If a new seat is allotted in DASA, your retained JoSAA seat is automatically cancelled. Note: securing an IIT seat in JoSAA prevents you from appearing for JEE (Advanced) 2027.
