ADMISSION PROCESS
Two-stage DAT: Prelims → Mains → Counselling

Online Registration
Create an account at admissions.nid.edu. Upload photo, signature & category certificates.

Pay Application Fee
General/OBC/EWS: ₹3,000 · SC/ST/PwD: ₹1,500 · Overseas: ₹5,000.

DAT Prelims
3-hour written test · MCQ + subjective. Tests design aptitude, creativity, visualisation, observation & GK.

Prelims Result
Only 1.5× candidates (of total seats) shortlisted for Mains. Prelims score is NOT counted in final merit.

DAT Mains — Studio Test
Sketching, model-making, design exercises. M.Des: studio test + interview.

Final Merit
Based entirely on Mains performance. Category-wise merit lists released.

Counselling
June 2026 · Submit campus preferences, verify documents, pay token fee.

Report to Campus
Submit original documents, pay semester fees and begin your design journey.

International Applicants Guide
- Overseas category: 15% supernumerary seats in B.Des and M.Des. For foreign passport holders with PIO / OCI.
- NRI with Indian passport: NOT eligible for Overseas category. Must apply as Indian nationals.
- OCI / PIO: Apply only under Overseas category. Pay foreign-citizen fees.
- Student visa: Mandatory for Overseas candidates before joining.
